Mac Mini03 Sep 2007 19:35 GMT43
Possibly missed in the midst of the iMac and software announcements
today is the news that the Mac Mini now runs the Core 2 Duo processor,
which makes it a 64 bit computer.
Bought the new MBP03 Sep 2007 16:28 GMT2
and except for minor troubles wrestling Airport to the ground, the only
problem I am having is that the writing on the Samsung monitor isn't as
sharp as it was on the original MBP. Is there a preference I can use to
change this, should I try reinstalling the drivers, or is there ...
Screen Freezes03 Sep 2007 13:36 GMT6
I just bought an eMac running Panther.  At times the mouse  will freeze or
the screen will seem to blur as in motion.  I am unable to force quit the
application I am working on.  I can only work for about 15 minutes before I
notice this condition.  I did a restore of the system ...

plain costs too much.

New iMac remote03 Sep 2007 02:29 GMT1
Just got my company to purchase a new iMac. It looks like the new
aluminum iMacs don't have the magnetic docking for the Apple remote. Is
there no clever remote docking?
Cache a CD or Slow Down Spin-Down Time?03 Sep 2007 01:27 GMT4
I'm working with a CD-based Chinese-Language program (Rosetta Stone).
When I do a particular especially common exercise, I find that the CD
drive almost always spins down the CD drive several seconds before I'm
ready to get it to check my answer, for which it spins the drive up
Q's about switching my business to Mac03 Sep 2007 00:53 GMT2
I need to buy several desktops for my business and am thinking of
switching to Mac. First I want to replace my current 3-year-old Dell.
What I am looking for is a computer that will run fast, with minimal
fan noise, will let me run 4 monitors at once, and that will let me
Whoopee, I get to retire my 'hex zero' hack (on BootCamp)03 Sep 2007 00:49 GMT4
As most knowledgeable BootCamp users know, it is a real PITA to back up
and restore a Vista partition on their Mac.
Even the Vista NGs abound with horror tales about standard backup
utilities not doing the job.
USB pen-drive won't mount (but is recognized!)03 Sep 2007 00:28 GMT3
For some reason my Kingston DataTraveler DT1/1GB (http://
www.kingston.com/flash/datatraveler.asp) doesn't mount when I insert
it.
However, Growl recognizes it and tells me:
Gawd! i hate computers! #74738277728299902 Sep 2007 22:12 GMT46
So-- i've only had this MacBook for 3 days now, and i've had an icon
disappear...!!!
this bug seemed to be fairly well documented in many previous
generations of Mac OS's but wasn't this OSX supposed to be rewritten
CDs get an old name?02 Sep 2007 21:30 GMT4
I'm running iTunes 7.3.2 (6) on OS X 10.4.10.
I recently received a newly burned audio CD (AIFF format) containing a
recording of my grandparents (i.e., it's not a commercial CD).
When popped the CD and opened iTunes, I found it strange that the disk
Installer Vise Simply Will Not Run02 Sep 2007 21:19 GMT20
Greetings All,
I'm running a Macbook Pro, OS X 10.4.10. I recently downloaded Epson's
drivers for my printer (Epson CX4800) - they come as an Installer Vise
pgm. When I tried to run it the execution icon bounced a few times in
Is it possible for a Windows PC to print off of a Mac printer share?02 Sep 2007 16:25 GMT7
Don't know if my title was clear or not. I have an all-Mac network at
home (a B&W G3 running 10.3 with a USB laser printer hooked up and two
G4 ibooks running 10.4). They're all connected on a wireless network and
can print to the printer connected to the B&W.
Can't start up from OS X install disc02 Sep 2007 14:18 GMT15
I'm running 10.4.10 on an iBook G4.
I was using Onyx to handle the scheduled maintenance task when it told
me that the HD needed to be repaired. So I tried to boot from the OS X
(10.4.2) install disc so I could run Disk Utility. I get stuck in a
