A friend of mine runs a cafe locally who has the new Airport Extreme which continues to lose its signal. Either the signal drops significantly or it just goes off the air. Power cycling it solves the problem, most of the time.

I just brought home an airport extreme and am trying to set up dhcp reservation for the two machines that are on my lan. I see how to do it for wireless machines (using airport utility, click on internet, click on dhcp, then add dhcp reservations). However, I don't see how

Just discovered Adium today thanks to some folks here. Notice there's no Skype on it. I'm sure there's a good reason (business decision? vastly different type of system?) -- anyone know why?

I have a somewhat bizarre problem. My Macbook Pro OSX Tiger 10.4.10 refuses to load Google from my home network (I'm going to have to test this tomorrow at school and see if it works there...). Not Gmail not Calendar not even a page with google ads. If I try, it acts like its

After I install new software I run Cocktail, which flushes caches among other things. Normally I use an input method (Grammarian), which I specify by clicking on the flag icon on my menu bar. Cocktail causes this setting to be lost.

i booted into single user mode and tried to fsck my disk and it worked flawlessly as apple suggested "/sbin/fsck -fy". it reported the drive back as /dev/rdisk1s3. i have a dual drive system and the other drive is /dev/rdisk0s3 and am trying to get fsck to test that drive out ...
