Ipod lyric utility?24 Aug 2007 14:18 GMT2
I have a 30g Video.
Anyone know of a utility that will show/scroll song lyrics on the iPod?
I've had a look at version tracker, but they all have bad reviews.
Thanks, Colin
Jerky video on iMac G5 - causes and fixes?24 Aug 2007 13:26 GMT10
I was over at a friends today helping him with some minor computer
stuff. I wanted to show him some funny video clips from jibjab and you
tube but the jibjab clips were very jerky and not fluid like they
should be. He said the same thing happens on YouTube also but I
Audacity for Intel Mac?24 Aug 2007 13:07 GMT5
I want to use Audacity on my Mac Pro. Two questions: (1) not sure how to
get the help files, or is there any other doc (Google doesn't seem to
show anything); and (2) how does one install libmp3lame for an Intel
mac? Do i have to build it, or is there a binary already? I ...
Best "Classic" OS?24 Aug 2007 12:12 GMT43
Hopefully I don't end up starting a little flamewar here, but I'm
curious to know:
Between OS 8.6, 9.0.4, 9.1 and 9.2.2 (and maybe 9.x + the updated
extensions from OS X Classic), which of the Classic OSes, running
MacBook Shutting Down Randomly24 Aug 2007 08:28 GMT4
I have a black MacBook, 2gb RAM, roughly 100gb free hard drive.

Low levels on converted AIFFs.24 Aug 2007 07:36 GMT6
When I import CD audio files into iTunes, the resulting MP3s have very
low sound levels. Is there any way to get them to convert at the same
level as the original track?
Thanks.
Changing name on iMac24 Aug 2007 04:56 GMT7
My daughter's off to college with a new computer, and has given me her
old iMac.  The machine thinks it's name is "HerName's iMac".  How do I
change the name?  Thanks!
X-Face24 Aug 2007 03:18 GMT8
At one time I had a collection of x-face images -- can't find it now.
X-Face images are the little pictures in the upper left-hand corner of
the header in a UseNet posting.
Check any posting from Michelle Steiner (or me) and you will see it.
iMac hard-disk question...24 Aug 2007 01:52 GMT2
I was looking at the new iMac Tech Specs and they mentioned an "optional"
hard-disk.  Does it mean that there's room in the new iMac for a second
internal hard-disk or does it mean that the optional hard-disk would replace
the "primary" internal hard-disk?  In the latter case (no ...
emac fails when put to sleep23 Aug 2007 23:43 GMT3
hope this is the right group to ask.
My eMac (G4,1.25Mhz,750MB RAM) will go into sleep mode but when I
press a button on the keyboard the CRT will sound like a degauss and
the power is off.
Showing that lookupd -flushcache has done its job23 Aug 2007 23:01 GMT3
I have a small, but annoyingly growing, list of websites that I can't
access - the connection just times out - on this machine running OS
10.4.10.
The standard response from various places on the web is to clear by

Is there an enhanced System Profiler?23 Aug 2007 19:16 GMT7
If I haven't completely lost my mind, I seem to remember that in an
earlier version of Mac OS X, maybe even an earlier version of Tiger, in
System Profiler.app, one could learn a lot more about an internal CD/DVD
drive: whether burning is supported, what typed of discs are burnable
Does AFP work properly on a private IP network?23 Aug 2007 19:10 GMT14
I have two Macs on my home network running OSX 10.4.9 and
they are both using 192.168.1.1xx addresses.
I sometimes can mount the disk on the other Mac
but it is only when I use the private IP address
Acessing Tiger backup from Panther laptop?23 Aug 2007 16:41 GMT2
A 15" PowerBook running Tiger had a logic board failure.
While it's in the shop we're attempting to access some of the files that
are in a SuperDuper! backup of this PB which was written to an external
80 GB LaCie FireWire pocket drive.  We're doing this by mounting this
