I want to use Audacity on my Mac Pro. Two questions: (1) not sure how to get the help files, or is there any other doc (Google doesn't seem to show anything); and (2) how does one install libmp3lame for an Intel mac? Do i have to build it, or is there a binary already? I ...

Hopefully I don't end up starting a little flamewar here, but I'm curious to know: Between OS 8.6, 9.0.4, 9.1 and 9.2.2 (and maybe 9.x + the updated extensions from OS X Classic), which of the Classic OSes, running

At one time I had a collection of x-face images -- can't find it now. X-Face images are the little pictures in the upper left-hand corner of the header in a UseNet posting. Check any posting from Michelle Steiner (or me) and you will see it.

| iMac hard-disk question... | 24 Aug 2007 01:52 GMT | 2 |
I was looking at the new iMac Tech Specs and they mentioned an "optional" hard-disk. Does it mean that there's room in the new iMac for a second internal hard-disk or does it mean that the optional hard-disk would replace the "primary" internal hard-disk? In the latter case (no ...

If I haven't completely lost my mind, I seem to remember that in an earlier version of Mac OS X, maybe even an earlier version of Tiger, in System Profiler.app, one could learn a lot more about an internal CD/DVD drive: whether burning is supported, what typed of discs are burnable

| Acessing Tiger backup from Panther laptop? | 23 Aug 2007 16:41 GMT | 2 |
A 15" PowerBook running Tiger had a logic board failure. While it's in the shop we're attempting to access some of the files that are in a SuperDuper! backup of this PB which was written to an external 80 GB LaCie FireWire pocket drive. We're doing this by mounting this
