I've been trying to duplicate the internal disk of my PowerBook to a disk image on a Firewire drive using hdiutil ... so I issued hdiutil create -srcdevice /dev/disk0s3 /Volumes/Archiv/disk0s3.dmg and got the following:

hi. i installed a program, went to the applications folder, and then tried to make an alias of the .app file. for some reason it's greyed out on the menu bar.. under permissions something was locked. i unlocked it, but i still couldn't make the alias. any suggestions on what to ...

I have been using an external HD to back up a variety of data. Since one folder contains my financial data, I decided to try to lock it up so only I could access it. I have been making the folder inaccessible, but anyone can tweak "Get info" and get right into the files.

Got my old Mac Classic out of the cupboard yesterday and tried to get the external scsi zip drive to work. Well, the computer wouldn't even boot, so I turned it off, removed the zip drive and tried again (it worked before I tried the zip drive experimemt BTW).

Just a thought, Since the Mac is now using Intel, and a typical hard drive, ram etc, why can't one take the MAC operating system and put it on lets say a Dell or Toshiba?

May I configure diferent Inboxes for Mail app under OS X 1.4.10 as with Netscape in my RedHat LInux?. It means that every account could have its ount Inbox-Outbox-Sent-Draft ... etc folders?.., not to see all the accounts under the only one of those mail folders?
