Multipart/Alternative -- is there a definitive source for writing it?26 Jul 2007 02:27 GMT1
There doesn't seem to be a newsgroup for this problem so ... since I'm
using a Mac to write the shell script (which in turn writes the
Multipart/Alternative email),  I hope no one will mind me posting
about this here.

How to I tell the OS that the default email client is thunderbird?
Network and iTunes Sharing Question25 Jul 2007 21:02 GMT4
My clunky old local network runs at 10 MB thru a hub. Recently, I got a
cable/DSL router which included a 4-port 100 MB switch. I moved my three
Macs to the switch to get the speed. It was nice! Then I noticed that
iTunes sharing wasn't working anymore. I figured it was because ...

Is there a way to have a disk automatically open and show its contents

I have a video file that doesn't play sound in quicktime (7.2.0) on
Imac (20", MacOsX 10.4.10). VLC tells me it uses the following codecs:

Safari's handling of PDF files25 Jul 2007 17:58 GMT66
So, I've Googled for this information with little success.  This could
well be a very obvious newbie question with an equally obvious solution,
but I'm not having any luck.
I'm trying to get Safari to open PDF files in it's own browser window,

RAID1 disk errors - caused by bad disk and found by support of disk warrior/apple25 Jul 2007 09:53 GMT1
I had a half year old MacPro with 2 Seagate 750 GB hard drives in a

This disk developed bad errors, unrepairable by Disk Utility. On a
suggestion here I tried Disk Warrior.
Trying to Mac a happy switch: Vaio to Macbook25 Jul 2007 07:40 GMT11
About two months ago, my husband switched from his two year old Vaio
to a new MacBook (2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 1GB memory, 120GB hard
drive, SuperDrive). The switch hasn't been a positive for him; if you
can bear the story, perhaps you have some suggestions on how to
Lost apps - can I ressurect them?25 Jul 2007 02:16 GMT20
Another reckless bit of file juggling between internal HDs of two
different G4s (a Quicksilver and a Sawtooth) has resulted in the loss of
all my OS 9.x audio- and image-editing apps (Photoshop 5.5 is the
biggest loss here). What I did was to copy all my OS 9 apps from the
