OS 10.4.10 and ReiserFS - any problems?07 Jul 2007 15:33 GMT10
I have just bought an HP MediaVault, and I'm having two problems. After
the unit boots and shows all green lights as it's supposed to do, it
takes 20 or more minutes to show up on my Mac (I have to go to Network
and connect to it - it doesn't appear on the desk top; no problem). I

also Jewish. She never was comfortable with anyone knowing that. When
my father died, she remarried a Catholic and became one herself. And
Safari aborts with 10.4.10 and 2007-00607 Jul 2007 06:13 GMT3
I recently installed 10.4.10PPC.pkg followed by security update
2007-006Ti.pkg.  Everything (else) seems to be OK - except Safari.  It
craps out on me quite freqently.  Especially when I click on a link.
It aborts.  I've made Firefox my default browser so I am not in real

When I hear a track that isn't great I give it 1 star.
So the next time I sync up with iTunes & I want to free up some disk
space, I can hopefully just delete those tracks
Maximum RAM on a Macbook Pro07 Jul 2007 04:09 GMT3
This has probably been asked and answered, but I could not find it...
I am considering a Macbook Pro 17" as my next machine.  What is the
maximum RAM that the machine can actually recognize and use?  I know
that the Apple Store allows configuring with 4GB, but can the machine
Wireless mouse vs keeping computer asleep06 Jul 2007 23:46 GMT3
Gang,
I just replaced my wired Mighty Mouse with a wireless one.  The
instructions recommend turning it off when not in use for extended
periods, so I planned to turn it off at night.  However, doing so after

I'm using a PPC Mac Mini with OSX 10.4.10, and Safari 2.0.4 (419.3), with 1
Gb of RAM.
Until about a week ago, everything was working peachy. Then, I noticed that
in Safari, some of the media content (ads, pop-ups, music) on certain

Why is process listed as KIND=PowerPC on my Intel Macbook?06 Jul 2007 14:31 GMT5

Recommended backup software?06 Jul 2007 13:54 GMT25
I'm looking for recommendations for backup software to run under MacOS
X 10.4.x on a Power Macintosh G4 MDD.  I want to be able to backup my
entire hard drive to DVD-Rs, and preferably be able to produce a
bootable DVD from which I can boot, if necessary, to do a full restore
Can't login after update06 Jul 2007 13:51 GMT1
I have a G3 running MacOS X, a couple of days back it asked me to update
a few packages like Java and some others so I let it go ahead with them
and it asked for a reboot so I reboot. Then it comes up but none of my
logins in the system work. Does anyone have any idea of what ...
Cloning a non-Mac disk06 Jul 2007 12:02 GMT3
I would like to be able to clone a non-Mac disk (Unix/Windows) using my
Mac. I'd take the source disk from its machine, connect it through
USB/FW to the Mac, grab a similarly sized blank disk, connect it, and
obtain a perfect copy, that I would put into the original machine.
Partitioning an external disk06 Jul 2007 10:46 GMT11
When partitioning an external disk on an iMac Core2Duo,
should one always choose the Options... button and
select "GUID Partition Table"?  If so, why is this
not the default or is Apple too stupid to realize
