I recently took a job in a small production studio, and will soon receive a new Mac Pro with FC Studio 2. Being new to macs, can someone offer advice on 1) a few utilities I should consider installing. Preferably freeware apps.

"top" shows CPU and memory usage in the terminal. is there a similar command to show network usage? if i were sitting at the machine i could just use ActivityMonitor, but i'm not. thanks.

After successfully "wiping" old deleted files from my Mac's hard drive, WITHOUT harming any legitimate files inside my Vista partition, I am getting greedy, want more! I now want to wipe the slack space in disk file "clusters".

I've used 'Finder > Go > Connect to Server' before to connect to servers and work with file like they were on my mac, which is amazingly handy, but I have setup a server of my own now, and can't quite figure out what I need to do to use this feature.
