OS 9.1 screen caps wrong screen06 Jun 2007 16:09 GMT2
I have two monitors, with the one in front of me as the menu bar and
startup monitor, and the one on my left secondary. But when I screen
capture (using Command-Shift 3), it gets the second monitor. Any ideas
on how to change this? I guess it's no big deal, since I can use
Mac Mini - Hard Disk issue + vanishing partitions06 Jun 2007 15:29 GMT2
I've been having some problems with my mac mini lately, and would be
interested to know whether anyone has experienced similar issues.
About a month ago, the system kept locking up frequently, and I
eventually tracked down the problem to a bad block on the hard disk
How to Trash 'Previous System'06 Jun 2007 08:08 GMT7

It left a folder of locked files labled 'Previous System' in the
Trash.
How do I get rid of it, please?
Safari "File-Open" frustration06 Jun 2007 05:55 GMT7
So I edit some images in Photoshop, save them, then log onto photo.net
to upload a couple, and lo-and-behold they don't show up in Safari's
File-Open dialog.  WTF?  This is with 10.3.9.
Only solution was to use Firefox.  I take it that Firefox doesn't use
Hard Disk upgrade on a Mac Mini Core Duo06 Jun 2007 05:13 GMT4
the 80Gb hard disk on my Mac mini starts to feel really tight.

sshfs on Tiger & Cygwin on XP06 Jun 2007 01:38 GMT1
I just installed MacFUSE and sshfs on Tiger and was able to mount
filesystems on both Solaris 7 and OSX Server 10.4 without any
problems.  I then installed Cygwin (including, of course, its SSH
server) on a Windows XP box and was able to ssh to the same Solaris

Making a bootable MacOS DVD06 Jun 2007 01:04 GMT2
This used to be so easy in MacOS 7 etc.
As far as I remember, to create a bootable CD I just had to copy the
"system folder" over to the CD. That way I could create my own,
customized emergency boot CD with various utilities needed for
wishful thinking: OSX version of ClarisCAD06 Jun 2007 00:37 GMT4
Ok,
so it's my personal pipe dream, but if anyone out there ever found
someone who'd got hold of the source code to ClarisCAD and ported it to
OSX,  I would love to have such a goodie.
Sonnet Tempo Trio05 Jun 2007 23:46 GMT3
I have a Powermac G4 400Mhz which i am trying to upgrade its ATA

Backing up pre-categorized fonts05 Jun 2007 23:25 GMT1
I'm on MacOS 10.4.9 and although I don't fully understand the "Font
book" application I've understood enough to see that it works along
the same principles of iTunes and iPhoto; all fonts are stored in one
location, but you can make several different "playlists" or

My girlfriend's G4 (Graphite, 400 mhz, 500 Mb RAM, 100 Gb spare on
Hard Drive) has been crashing with that black blind and Attention! in
several languages.
Any thoughts?
