debugging web page with Safari18 Jun 2007 11:30 GMT5
I've enabled the debug menu in Safari and I have the JavaScript Console
open.  I'm loading a page which is generated by php.  In the JavaScript
Console window there is a report of a syntax error on line 585.  How do
I find line 585 or the syntax error?  The View Source would be ...
convert iMovieProject to MPEG?18 Jun 2007 06:24 GMT5
Is it possible to convert an iMovieProject to an MPEG
so that I can place the movie on a personal website
or YouTube?  I tried to use MPEG Streamclip 1.8
but to do so, it appears that I must have QuickTime Pro.
Power Supplies18 Jun 2007 05:51 GMT8
I have a G4 800 "QuickSilver 2002" Mac that has a power supply fan that is
getting more and more noisy.  Anyone know the cheapest third party power
supply replacement... or where to get an Apple one cheap?  I ordered one
from TigerDirect that they *told* me would work but others ...

The tail of system.log appears on my desktop via GeekTool.  This works
on all three of my Macs, but on my most recent acquisition - a MBP
-system.log's permissions change when periodic.daily runs from 644

Hate those sliding finder windows17 Jun 2007 21:01 GMT7
When a Finder window is partly off screen, and you drag something into
it, it "obligingly" moves over to be entirely on screen.
Problem is, there's a delay, and it usually moves just as I'm dropping
the chosen item, and sometimes that causes it to go into a subfolder --
Applescript H.E.L.P: Writing scripts to interact with a cd drive.17 Jun 2007 19:54 GMT13
I'm not sure applescript is the way to go (in which case corrections
are most welcome), but here's the problem.
I've got a CD on which I intend to distribute software which is
nothing but  a flash program that accesses xml and some audio files on

How do I dis-associate an application from a file type?17 Jun 2007 14:30 GMT7
When I ctrl-click a JPEG image, and select "Open With", a list of two
dozen applications appears.  How can I tell OS X that a particular
application should not be associated with a particular file type?
I don't want to change the default application, I want to tell OS X,
Mac Pro or Mac Book Pro?17 Jun 2007 13:14 GMT6
I want to get into Final Cut Pro. I also want to start using Adobe
CS3. I am a Flash designer. I may want to get into Maya as well.
Can a Mac Book Pro handle all of this? Or should I go for a Mac Pro?
Any suggestions?

The old iMACs (The blue ones, just a screen no box) has 2 USB 1.1
ports...
Can a printer with USB 2.0 be connected to the USB 1.1 port?
No special cables or adaptors?
Backup strategy17 Jun 2007 12:27 GMT3
I wanted to back up my Mac, and quickly filled up .MAC.   So I'm
looking for a better strategy - at least until I see what Leopard
likes in a USB drive.
I bought a bunch of blank DVD disks, and moved the USB DVD writer to
