Hogwasher, again...26 May 2007 03:43 GMT2
Ok, I've been convinced from in here that Hogwasher is the newsreader to use
and have been quite happy with it.    4.2.2 is what I bought but I did
download the trial version of their new release 4.3 and well, to be honest
never really had a chance to look at it closely.  Yet ...

Practical way to speed Photoshop CS2?26 May 2007 00:03 GMT69
Is there a practical way to speed my Photoshop CS2?
It's processing my commands (such as making and saving paths and saving
files) very sluggishly when I work on big files.
The TIFF I'm currently working on (for example) is 174 megabytes.
Old Airport card and 802.11g ?25 May 2007 21:28 GMT3
I have an old Tangerine 300Mhz G3 iBook that I just bought an original
Airport card for (802.11b). I currently have a Netgear wireless router
(802.11g) between my DSL line and my Power Mac G5.
Does anyone know whether the old Airport card will be compatible with
Constant Mac G4 Freezes25 May 2007 19:49 GMT8
I've seen a few posts on various forums about Mac G4s freezing
constantly however there never seem to be any real answers to the
problem.
I recently purchased a G4 Mac, the mirrored drive door version, with a
Apple Store25 May 2007 19:33 GMT2
I went into the Apple store today to pick up a couple of things (the one
in Clarendon, VA) and they have made it way too easy to spend money...a
salesperson with a portable credit card reader was able to check me out
without ever getting near the actual sales desk.  Then he said ...

where the flames aren't so nasty.
Digital output problem MacBook Pro25 May 2007 18:30 GMT1
I have a set of Boston Acoustics BA735 speakers.  They are the non usb
set.  I inherited these a couple years ago and had a heck of a time
getting them to work.  I did a little research and found out that you
need a sound card that supports digital out.  Long story short I
Probably a silly question - can only admin users burn disks?25 May 2007 17:42 GMT3
I've just had to upgrade from a 10.3.9 G3 iBook without a disk burner
to a 10.4.9 MacBook with a SuperDrive. ("Had to"? I dropped the iBook
and it's knackered ? luckily it was insured!).  So I have no experience
of burning disks. I've successfully burned data onto a DVD -R and a

MacBook memory25 May 2007 14:44 GMT1
I've just bought a new MacBook. I have a 1GB memory chip that I want to
install to boost the memory to 1.5GB, the Apple support site says that
matching memory should be installed for "best performance "
How do I do the root/superuser thing?25 May 2007 12:28 GMT16
I am embarrassed but I have forgotten my root/superuser password, not
having used it for more than a year. That's because mostly I work in my
own home directory. Today I got some softwware that installed itself in
/usr/local instead. When I tried to delete the files for Intel ...
Part time Mac OSX experts needed in Australia25 May 2007 09:28 GMT12
Sorry in advance if I've posted this in the wrong spot - please let me
know if there's a better place to be posting this.
I work for a company that has several sub-contractors in the IT
industry. From time to time we require people with OSX experience to
