Dell D820 or MacBook?28 May 2007 01:16 GMT21
I've been given a choice at work.  Dell D820 (Windows or Linux) or a
MacBook.  The Dell would have 3GB ram, a better video card, larger/
faster hard drive, and a 15" screen.  The MacBook would be Maxed out
in terms of RAM, and I may be able to move up to the 100GB hard drive.

Much to my dismay I've lost all entries in iCal earlier than May 1.  Not
the biggest thing in the world but it had some bicycle ride entries I'd
like to refer to.  Somewhere around May Day something must have went
fubar with iCal resulting in everything disappearing before then.  ...

My father uses a G5 iMac.  I perform all of the maintenance on it for
him since he's 74 and he wants to use computers, not maintain them.
Part of the maintenance that I perform is to boot into single user mode
and then run /sbin/fsck -fy.

it does so that I can determine if and how a part of the weekly task

BACK UP ADVICE27 May 2007 08:10 GMT5
Looking to back up my MacBook data. But I want the whole drive,
photos, Ical data, etc, everything stores somewhere where I can just
easily download it and it opens like my computer without a lot of
fancy reconfiguring. Ideally, it would store the Windows side of my
Reliable, sharp monochrome printer wanted.27 May 2007 07:43 GMT13
I'm looking to replace an ancient Apple Personal Laserwriter NTR.
The things that matter to me are reliability in intermittent use,
high resolution and a standard interface in both hardware and
software. From my experience PostScript was a good investment,
