I've been given a choice at work. Dell D820 (Windows or Linux) or a MacBook. The Dell would have 3GB ram, a better video card, larger/ faster hard drive, and a 15" screen. The MacBook would be Maxed out in terms of RAM, and I may be able to move up to the 100GB hard drive.

I have most of my photo collection imported into Iphoto. My question is, is there a way to have the albums auto update as I ad more photos? or do I have to keep reimporting them?

Much to my dismay I've lost all entries in iCal earlier than May 1. Not the biggest thing in the world but it had some bicycle ride entries I'd like to refer to. Somewhere around May Day something must have went fubar with iCal resulting in everything disappearing before then. ...

I've enabled sharing for my user account on my mac. I can see my home directory on my mac from my pc. However I have files on a second drive on my mac that I can't see from the pc.

My father uses a G5 iMac. I perform all of the maintenance on it for him since he's 74 and he wants to use computers, not maintain them. Part of the maintenance that I perform is to boot into single user mode and then run /sbin/fsck -fy.
