i got an older Power Pc (Imac) with mac os 10.4.8 installed on the hd.
i got the mac for special program, that can only run on an mac, So ,

How do i pick and choose what i would like to share from my

It will not move anything, anywhere - to a folder, to trash, to another
HD, etc.
I can Copy a Word and TextEdit file and can then cmd-V into another HD.
I can also move any file from another HD or the Internet into this HD.

My 20 inch G5 imac (bought in late 2004) started turning itself off
randomly, then refusing to boot in anything but target mode.  I took it
into the dealer, who said "the logic board is failing" and it would cost
$1000 to replace it, which seems excessive to me when I can get a ...

I want to transfer files from one hard disc to the other.
Can I just plug them together via ethernet?
Would I need a crossover cable? Haven't got one at the moment, just

I set up SAMBA on the LInux machine and the MAC (running the very
latest OSX) can copy files to the SAMBA share at lightning speeds.

I recently noticed that when I unplugged my imac (two year old, G5)
for 30 minutes, that I need to reset the clock. Makes me think the

I've noticed on several macs (laptops and desktops) that burning cd's
or dvd's is slow compared to a pc with winXP.
Why is that?

I have 10.4.9.  In System Preferences, my mouse tracking speed is set in
