I bought a MacBook Pro when away from home recently (my now to be
retired Powerbook G4 was not with me). When I "fired up" the new
computer while still travelling it prompted me to do a transfer of my

I have an application that I need to set some environment variables
for, and can do this in the ~/.MacOSX/environment.plist file. But it
would be easier for me to set these variables on a global (ie. per-
machine, not per-user) basis. The variables aren't user variables
