I have a blue & white Mac that is giving me grief. I need to install a system on it but when I boot from the 9.1 CD I get a "Desktop cannot be created" message with an OK button. When I click the button the Mac reboots. I have done the PRAM.

I have more information on my sleep problem on my G4 running 10.4.9. I try putting my computer to sleep in the following ways. 1. I select Sleep from the Apple menu. 2. I press the Power button momentarily on the front of the Mac.

Updated transmit to the latest version. Everything in sharing/firewall control panel is set properly. FTP won't work either on Yummy or Transmit. Only thing that works is port 22 and SFTP. Tried deactivating the firewall completely, still no go.

Using a BT might mouse on a Mac Pro under 10.4.9. I am turning the mouse (and in fact the keyboard) off when leaving the office, to save battery power. And OS X puts up the nice graphic to say it can't find each of them.
