When a open a terminal, if I want to login as root (using the su

I have a friend using Netscape (not Thunderbird) for e-mail.
He's having trouble with it, but he doesn't know how to find the version
number.  Can anyone here tell me what was the latest version that could
still do e-mail and if there's still a place to download it?

Lately my 3 year old Mac Powerbook G4 (OSX 10.3.9) has begun to have
some peculiar (so far) small dysfunctions. I actually posted here a

So you shop around and maybe score a bit of a discount on your dream
machine.  You then configure it with the minimum (2 x 512mb, 160gb and
base video card) parts.  Then, when you take delivery of it, hopefully
you can get the dealer to give you those parts in the sealed packages ...

I am seen on several web site that when you have more then one user
account in Panther that what you switch accounts the dektop will
rotate on a 3D cube, I am unable to get it to do that. Any thoughts???

I dont know if this is the best group to ask, but I need some opinions
on my new macbook.
It's  brand new 13" macbook with the dual core processor.  To make it
short... it is ridiculously slow with most tasks. It takes, on average,

When in Column view I find that when I get over to the 5th column, and
I click on the 2 vertical lines at the bottom of the column to
automatically widen the column so I can read all the names in that
column, nothing happens.  But only on the 5th column.  2nd, 3rd, 4th

I am having issues with the Finder when it creates a preview (column
mode) of any MP3/MP4 (iTunes plays these files with no problems) or
movie but not pictures, the Finder quit the restarts (window and finder
