Sorry, I forgot - you can't upgrade.
Will it run on a G5?  Do do you have to upgrade?
Weird problems with OS X01 Feb 2007 22:35 GMT8
I think my install of OS 10.4.8 is seriously screwed up. Some
applications won't launch anymore, like Skype or Keynote. They just
bounce once and that's it. Others do work fine though. Worse though,
the system doesn't shut down anymore. When blanking out to the "blue

I tried to log into my Apple account under iTunes and got the
message...
"This person record requires harvesting."

boot camp01 Feb 2007 21:18 GMT3
I've installed boot camp on my macbook, and it seems to work pretty
well (since I don't really use windows too much, that's about all I
can say)
Anyway, one thing that kind of irks me, is that when I boot into OS X
accelerator01 Feb 2007 17:52 GMT30
I recently downloaded "Accelerator" program for the Mac from Tucows.
It feels good on my Intel MacMini- there's a real snap to some/many of
the programs. I don't know if it's my imagination or real speedup.
Written material states a 20 - 30% speed increase. Is there any way to

Lo chaps.
Is there a mac version of the event log in Windows ? I'm particularly
interested in sudden reboots and errors that might occur jst before a
sudden shut down.

is still interesting.  Take a look at the computer he's using.

Scalability and Usability of Spotlight for Large Disk Volumes01 Feb 2007 04:40 GMT4
Of all the features in OS X I have explored since buying a MacBook Pro,
I am more impressed with Spotlight than anything else.  Its ability to
index in the background and retrieve documents or files virtually
instantaneously is really impressive and perhaps underappreciated by
UTF-8 and MacOS - migration from ext301 Feb 2007 04:03 GMT5
I have been seriously thinking of buying a Macbook. However, as I am
currently running under a Linux distribution, I am worried about the
following problem:
My current filesystem is in ext3 and UTF-8 encoded and I am wondering
iTunes, DRM and music/video file unrestricted use.01 Feb 2007 04:01 GMT2
While in the process of creating a presentation in Keynote, I stumbled
across an issue I wasn't expecting.
It was my intention to include part of a video I purchased through the
iTunes store and that is now in my iTunes library to enhance my
Deleted System Files01 Feb 2007 02:21 GMT2
I was using Transmit to synchronize my computer with my FTP server, and
for some reason the main hard drive was open on the local side.
Unfortunately, the sync was in mirror mode, and it deleted some things
from the drive, except for things like System, Applications, etc. Since
Bind on OS/X01 Feb 2007 01:53 GMT16
I installed BIND on my OS/X (10.4) box.
Things seem to be working fine, but I'm having a problem with creating
zone files. Basically, to the outside world my domain should resolve
to the pulbic IP, but for machines on my LAN, it should resolve to a
Kernel panics.01 Feb 2007 00:25 GMT2
2 months ago, I returned my telesat high speed satellite dish and had to
go with dialup before going with Hughesnet (which is excellent, btw).
I used an external Apple-branded USB modem and started getting kernel
panics since. When I did get my satellite connection, I unplugged ...
