Hey folks...I need some help. I've got a powermac G5 that has some
sort of issue with external devices being attached to the USB port on
the keyboard (or at least that's my only idea why this keeps
happening). The computer locks up...we'll restart it, then it just

I'm in dire need of two new Macs, and sometimes I see deals on
craigslist, for example, that seem far too good to be true. On the other
On-demand video content... but not for Macs09 Feb 2007 20:21 GMT26
Just wondering what the US take is on this issue that's getting UK Mac
(and Linux) users in a panic: The issue of on-demand video content, and
how Microsoft seems to have it all wrapped up, thereby excluding all but
their own platform.
Apple an R&D division of Microsoft09 Feb 2007 19:55 GMT14
Hardware aside, Apple has been an R&D division of Microsoft. Let's
face it. And it's sad.
Without Apple, desktop & laptop computing would still be trying to run
on some "updated" version of MSDOS. Anyone remember the "good ol'
Is the Macbook HD powered internally?09 Feb 2007 19:49 GMT28
My 80GB Macbook HD failed last weekend and today I received my shiny
160GB Hitachi replacement. When I compared both disks I noticed that
the new disk did not have a 4 pin power connector (it looks like a
power connector anyway). The new drive has the two data connector
Bill Gates on security09 Feb 2007 19:36 GMT38
From a Newsweek interview with Bill Gates:
"Nowadays, security guys break the Mac every single day. Every
single day, they come out with a total exploit, your machine can
be taken over totally. I dare anybody to do that once a month on
How to set larger finder window?09 Feb 2007 19:00 GMT8

Problem starting CanoScan Toolbox on iMac w/ 10.4.809 Feb 2007 17:48 GMT5
Also posted on comp.sys.mac.app.  This seems like an issues that might
be addressed on either group.

Remote Sync Folders09 Feb 2007 17:43 GMT1
I've been on the lookout for a way to share a common home folder with
a Windows system. Specifically I have a 2003 server from which I can
mount files without a hitch. Is there a natural mechanism to sync up
automatically a local copy of my home folder on my Mac (running Tiger)

Watching stream video09 Feb 2007 16:01 GMT1
I am fairlly new to macs, but one thing that is bothering me, when I

Hard drive dead?09 Feb 2007 14:23 GMT7
My wife's MAC 7200 won't boot.  She gets a small box with a flashing ?

desktop is the CD drive that the boot disk is in.
I have a PC SCSI hard drive that I tried and though the cables fit and
