Interesting Finder/GraphicConverter malfunction ?17 Feb 2007 19:54 GMT2
This may be a bug in GraphicConverter
I had a tiff file visible on my desktop with a GraphicConverter icon.
I selected it and did Cmd-I to get the info window.  Rainbow pizza!
and Finder is using 70-90% CPU time for minutes.

Interesting iTunes problem17 Feb 2007 15:46 GMT1
I just noticed that when I try to import MP4 videos into iTunes’
library, if the filename of any video is longer than about 60
characters, it won’t be imported. It just doesn’t show up in the library.
Also, after trying unsuccessfully to import some videos like this,
Beginner Intel Mac ?17 Feb 2007 14:50 GMT6
My wife and I both have PowerPC Macs (Powerbook G4s of different
vintage) and both run OS X 10.4.8.
I backup and clone both to external FW hard drives connected to one.
If I have a problem/crash, I can boot from the clone of one on the other.
File sharing query17 Feb 2007 14:24 GMT3
I get such good help in this group, I though I'd try another one.
In a small network of 4 macs is it possible to share a directory
belonging to User1 on computer iMac with User2 on computer MacBook?
Feels like it should be simple, but I've spent ages on it without success.

I have seen them in Peep Show.
Mac OS X Server CPU graphs17 Feb 2007 09:28 GMT4
In the Server Admin application I can get a nice graph of how much the
CPU has worked lately. I realize that the GFX work is done in this
application, but it's pulling the data for the graph from the server
machine.
Mail not syncing17 Feb 2007 03:47 GMT13
In Mail Preferences, Advanced there is a very useful option for POP
users that is supposed to remove your email from the mail server after
you have removed it from your Inbox.  This would theorectically sync
your email on your computer with your incoming mail server so you

Hopefully, someone can help me here. I have a PM G5(Dual 2.0/1 Gig/
RevA), running 10.4.8 with, as far as I know, all the relevant
upgrades, etc. I am running one haxie, Cee Pee You. Today, I see that,
even when I'm not doing much, my CPU usage is huge. When I opened up

Keyboard and screen problems with my new MacBook16 Feb 2007 20:25 GMT6
Why are the '@' and ' " ' (doublequote) keys reversed when I use an
external UK keyboard?  There doesn't seem to be a possibility to fix it.
AppleCare say its designed like this (broken) - surely not.
I'm using an external Philips 180P monitor which was correctly detected,
Searching for a printer for an old Macintosh SE 1/4016 Feb 2007 19:09 GMT3

change file/folder opening default behaviour?16 Feb 2007 18:20 GMT9
If I'm in Finder, and highlight a folder or file, I'd like to be able
to open that folder or file by pressing Enter - I guess in a Windows-
stylee.  I appear to have to press Command-O instead.  Is there a way
of changing this?
