On this group, I read about a myriad of mac and OS X problems.
On csma, they refuse to acknowledge that these problems exist.

Recently I was doing some housekeeping, and noticed I had a menu extra
with a headphones icon at the right side of my menu bar. It allowed me
to switch the audio output destination. I haven't used it but maybe
once; so I took it off the menu bar.

We have a new iMac.   I was playing with the remote control and it
started a slide show.   I noticed a photo was sideways, so after a
bunch of searching, I found it, opened it, twisted it, and saved it.

I've seen this on 3 recent-model iMacs, including my own- both Intel and
PPC, all with lots of RAM ,broadband Internet, and OS X 10.4.8.
The symptoms are that sound works for system sounds, iTunes plays music
