adding actions on Location switching?27 Jan 2007 11:58 GMT3
Is there any way to add extra actions to be taken when switching
Locations?  In particular, I have different ssh config files I want to
use depending on the current Location setting.  Right now it's a symlink
and I change it manually.  But I'd love to have it happen automatically,
airport network no longer defaults properly after wake-up27 Jan 2007 08:00 GMT7
Not sure how I did this, but as of yesterday, when my MBP wakes from
sleep it no longer defaults the wireless network.  I have to select
one manually from the AirPort menu icon.  Before this, my local AirPort
network would be selected automatically on wake-up.
Guitar Cable to Intel Based Macs27 Jan 2007 06:51 GMT18
I am trying to connect an electric guitar as input to Garage Band via

on 2 Intel-based Macs (an iMac and a MacBook) I get a loud squeal
instead as the input, suggesting there is perhaps an impedance mismatch

I found the "Log out after __ minutes of inactivity" in System Prefs, but
it seems to be a global setting; i.e. all user accounts will do it or
none will.
Is there any way to have just one or two accounts do that and not the

The symptoms are that sound works for system sounds, iTunes plays music
without problem, etc... but when checking out online video- such as

I subscribe to one of the public domain audio books podcasts.  There is
a book I'd like to keep but I accidentally deleted about half the

Switching from Windows PC to Mac...26 Jan 2007 15:58 GMT6
I currently have a Windows XP PC and I would like to switch to the new 24"

Real cost of ownership.26 Jan 2007 15:53 GMT25
My Win XP was upgraded two weeks ago. It has been periodically updated for
the last 5 years, FREE.  My
machine actually runs faster, and I removed all outside VP programs.  I use
only WindowsXP and it works great - I surf all the "forbidden" sites without
