Keychains Issue Please Help!09 Jan 2007 05:25 GMT3
Recently, I did a stupid thing. I forgot my password for my iMac. So, I
reset the password using the installation disk. After resetting the
password, my keychains no longer works. I tried many things to correct
the problem. None worked. Now, my keychains seems to erase .mac and
MacBook Pro - Desktop Overflow09 Jan 2007 05:08 GMT8
I am new to Mac (OS X). Attempted to drag & drop hundreds of files from a
folder into the wastebin... now they are on the desktop instead. Finder
doesn't respond upon click. Managed to shutdown the computer after several
attempts but it won't start up again. Anything I can do?
The New Atheist Syndicate09 Jan 2007 04:36 GMT3
Dave Horn has been missing for sometime, and one can speculate all day
long as to what happened to Horn. Horn was the leader of a
atheist/agnostic group called Maloborge.com which was geared mostly to
attack Jason Gastrich (whom was the biggest evangelist to the skeptics
Finder vs. "The" Finder09 Jan 2007 04:33 GMT4
Why do I almost see people referring to "Finder" as "the Finder"?
I have never seen "the" preceeding Automator.  Or Netinfo Manager.  Or
Disk Utility, iPhoto, Garage Band, or TextEdit.  Finder's name is simply
"Finder."  Why do so many people attach a "the" before Finder when

Q: Do I need to keep "old" packages and receipts?09 Jan 2007 01:26 GMT2
I'd like to clean up my system somewhat and I noticed that i've got a
rather large collection of packages and receipts for apps that I've
updated. Do I need the old ones? Thanks.

I found Tim Potter's Pcap modules but following Paul Barry's method of
installing I get the following error in the make install step.   Here
is the error output.
I'm running 10.4.8 os x.  What am I doing wrong?

File copying and permissions08 Jan 2007 22:52 GMT3
Just backed up my Applications folder to an external drive but had to
accept a warning to the effect that "some files could not be copied due
to permissions etc."
Does this imply that some apps could not be restored in case of a
stability issues with Mac Os X 10.408 Jan 2007 20:56 GMT13
Half a year ago I bought a Mac Mini (Intel Core Duo) with the standard
512 meg ram. I've been having stability issues:
1) after a a while of usage (a days or two after boot time) launching
applications doesn't work - the app icon jumps up and down, as if it's
Kernel panic after installing 10.4.8 update on Mac Pro08 Jan 2007 20:40 GMT8
I decided to reinstall Mac OS X on my Mac Pro.
All went swimmingly, until I installed the 10.4.8 Intel update. Now I
get a kernel panic during bootup, and the only option that seems to
work is to boot from CD and reinstall again. Quite painful.
Best IPOD Video Case?08 Jan 2007 17:57 GMT3
I got a new IPOD Video 80 GB, and was wondering what the best case for
it is. I'm not interested in appearance, but protection of the body and
screen. Perhaps also how easily I can watch video on it. Protection
against drops, etc, but not necessarily water proof like the
Disappearing Mac Help08 Jan 2007 17:14 GMT8
In the past few weeks, an annoying glitch has started to occur. When I
click on "Mac Help" from the finder, the window appears momentarily and
then vanishes. I am using Mac OS 10.3.9 by the way and nothing else is
amiss. Anyone else ever met up with and, hopefully, resolved this one
