Should I be worried?15 Jan 2007 03:28 GMT19
I've always been the kind of person who enjoys creativity and producing
things, music, imovies, web sites, graphics, podcasts, this, that,
whatever, etc. and the Mac has always been the gold standard for that
kind of orientation, but now I'm worried about the consumer ...
AppleTV vs. Mac Mini?15 Jan 2007 00:09 GMT15
I would buy an AppleTV today, if it just did one more thing: play my
DivX... Hence, I am considering buying a Mac Mini instead, just to be
able to use VLC on it.
Does it make sense? I have a few concerns:

if time machine backs up everything in your mac, then does that mean
nothing gets deleted. If so then how does it recover files which you've

Saving iPhone intro movie?14 Jan 2007 19:52 GMT4
This might be an easy answer to the question, but how can I save the intro
speech so that I can watch it on my TV with my regular DVD player?
I run Quicktime Pro, but there is not the usual little drop down box on the
right hand side to save it. The Save As gives me two options to ...

Mac friends,
I recently purchased a new PowerBook and am getting used to a
semi-wireless life.  Everything is working perfectly (web surfing,
e-mails, ftp, etc.) except accessing newsgroups.  When wired via
Zoom in/out on .jpg/.tif files with Safari and OS X14 Jan 2007 14:44 GMT11
Using Safari with OS X, when I see a .jpg or .tif picture often the
picture appears zoomed in too close to see the whole picture on my
screen.  I cannot figure out how to zoom out in Safari.  The usual - or
plus key combined with the apple key do not work here.  If I choose

Confused about Apple TV14 Jan 2007 07:44 GMT20
Looks like Mac Mini. The description seemed to suggest that it can only
get programs from itunes? Is it going to capture, off the air, whatever
programs my local stations are broadcasting?

Skype + MacMini14 Jan 2007 02:13 GMT2
We have a mike problem. eCamm webcam works great - good picture quality
but webcam doesn't have microphone. I've tried two different mikes with
my Intel MacMini and neither works. We can get good picture and sound
from San Diego - and they get good picture but no sound from us in
PowerBook 5200 and archiving e-mail from 199714 Jan 2007 01:22 GMT5
I joined this group as a longtime Mac user. I have lots of e-mail I'd
like to recover from an old PowerBook - no USB, CD burner, only a
floppy drive.
How can I transfer lots of e-mail from that machine onto an iBook G3?
Disk Utility - "Bad Name" in red letters14 Jan 2007 01:09 GMT6
I am running 10.3.9 on a mirror-face G4. Lately, when I run Disk
