I have a few files on a MAC computer on a samba share with weird filenames. The filenames look OK on the MAC, but when viewed from Windows, they do not appear normal. These are some word files and even Word doesn;t open them complaining of bad file name. How can these

So I've been trying to install MySQL 5 on Mac OS X 10.4.8 (using the 5.0 x686 installer) and everytime I exit out of the shell (or it might be after I restart my computer), mysql.sock from /tmp keeps getting deleted, which requires reinstalling mysql...How do I prevent this from

how do i make more than one website and have them publish in serpate folders. when i made a website clicked on file> new site i done this new site and went to file>publish folder but after i published it to a diferent folder but when i clikced on the button after it was published

I have an Intel MacBook running 10.4.8. I also have a Canon MP830 multifunction printer/scanner/copier/fax which I have connected through an Airport Extreme base station (v5.7). I bought both a couple of months ago and for the most part had been printing without difficulty.

How do I force Spotlight to avoid searching files in the Trash? I don't see "Trash" listed among the privacy preferences, nor can I figure out how to drag the trash folder into the exclude box in the Privacy settings. Thanks for your help.

I'm getting some, (eg 150KB 900x650) .JPG images coming up full size.. some 150KB 900x650 images coming up icon/postage stamp size (100x75, if that) in Preview. These small images 'zoom' okay to full size but why should I have to?
