I just burned a 350MB file to a CD-RW, from my non-admin account. I then went to Disk Utility to erase the CD-RW and try burning it again (this is my first experience with CD-RW and I am just testing out how it works.) I selected the disc in DU and hit Erase. Then I was prompted ...

| Mac Security: Malware #9: iAdware spyware | 02 Dec 2006 18:52 GMT | 16 |
[Preface: Why is this malware #9? I am learning diplomacy. I think we are only up to #8. But some sources say this is #9, so I am going to do the 'go with the flow thing' and let them have their way. It's no big deal].

| Gimp, X11, help? | 02 Dec 2006 05:23 GMT | 17 |
I'm trying to use Gimp. I need X11 to do this. When I try to install X11 it says that there is no need to do so on this system. I'm guessing that means that it is already installed. When I try to run Gimp, it says that X11 is missing.

| Mac Security: Summary of Apple Security Update 2006-007 | 02 Dec 2006 03:45 GMT | 12 |
2006-11-28 Apple released a substantial new security update. Reading through the security patches is daunting. The size of the update I installed Tuesday was over 45 MB. That's big. But on the other hand I'm glad Apple are getting serious about keeping Mac OS X as secure as

I've recently moved to using a mac instead of a PC and am now trying to create a website. I have been using Iweb to do the basics, and generally it's been fairly easy, however I would like to add a photo gallery. I have installed gallery (gallery.menalto.com) on the server

| Displays & Mac OS X Server | 01 Dec 2006 23:07 GMT | 1 |
Is there a command to manually reset the display's resolution in Mac OS X Server 10.4? Some genius set it to a refresh rate out of range, and now the monitor won't display anything. Even rebooting the server did nothing.

| Forwarding webmail to POP options | 01 Dec 2006 17:42 GMT | 12 |
Imagine you love POP email because Webmail pretty much sucks. So you forward your Hotmail and Yahoo account(s) to your ISP's POP account. But you wisely never give out your ISP's email name since you may not be there forever and when you leave, that email address dies.

Hi, about six months ago I bought a secondhand G3 which arrived with OS10.4.7 already installed. Today I wanted to hook the G3 up to a camcorder to edit some video, only to discover there is no trace of iMovie on the machine. I thought this was automatically installed witrh
