I'm new to the mac, but I've acquired a G3 400 (slot load) motherboard.
I'd like to bench test this board.  It has the cpu, as well as what
looks like a mini power supply to one side.  I assume that if I connect
a monitor to the VGA port, memory, and an installed drive to the unit,

I just got a new computer
My question is with itunes and my ipod. I had it set before to manually
manage the ipod, because I did not want all the mp3s on my harddrive...
So now I have a loaded ipod and a brand new computer with an empty itunes..

Curious as to what would cause the Appearances Preferences (highlight
color, and scroll arrows) to change in one application and the next time
on launch they were back as I defined. Haven't changed those preferences
in a long time.

I have obtained a Xircom SCSI-USB converter to try to use a Nikon
Coolscan III film scanner with my iBook running OS X.

I have a OS/X box running 10.4. Boots into console mode, as I don't
need the GUI. (It's os/x workstation, but has a few server apps).

I have installed new DVD R/RW in this machine.  Now I'd like to install
the new 80 GB HD.  I have seen suggestion where I should disconnect the
optical drive and connect the HD, then drag and drop (copy) the files
to the new HD.
