I have a G3 with OS X and am planning to use it with my DSL connection and a NO-IP static address to host my personal sites. About 7 or 8 different domains sites. The DSL is off a router in my bedroom. Do I need NO-IP? Does my IP change?

I'm a newbie here, been using a Mac for a week. Person comes into my office with a NICE PowerBook and 10.4.7. She says she transferred everything from another Mac onto this one using FireWire and I think she said she had issues with FireFox and Netscape on the old machine.

I could easily cover up the green light. Could I use iChat (or something) to video record my bedroom. (in theory). So that way if anyone was to go snooping (burglars, cleaners.. etc) it would all be recorded

Anyone ever see this? When I attempt to bring up System Preferences it doesn't respond. I looked in the logs, Conole- shows missing mainmenu.nib file. Doing some additonal snooping, it looks like it originated with my Office Mac installation. Running OS X 10.4.7

I'm a PC user, say what you will...I will say that as soon as I latch onto some more $$, I'll certainly be seeing about getting a new Mac, if, for the very least, to learn to use it, and then maybe make it my desktop...people I know that use Macs swear by them for the most part.

I've copied the contents of an encrypted DVD onto my hard drive, resulting in VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders being created. Is it possible to use software like Mac the Ripper to decrypt the disk from these folders? I don't have the DVD disk itself any more. Or

I bought a used PowerBook G4 on Ebay. The administrator's password was locked. The Powerbook still can run to the normal screen. However, I am unable to update and install software without a password. I don't have the original install CD either the second mac for firmware
