I have two pet peeves with Mac and/or Mac apps. But I only need one
solved.
In Mac applications it is often necessary to specify an default
application for some purpose. Here are two examples,

I'm trying to install calc.el (I'm running version 22.0.50.1 on an
Intel Macbook Pro using OS X 10.4.7), and I keep getting a make error
when I try to install calc according to the instructions it included.
Specifically:

My hinges on my powerbook g4 went bad.  So I hooked it up to a external
monitor, and it is in dual monitor mode instead of mirror mode.  I
called apple support and they have no clue how to get it into mirror

Anybody know how Bluetooth 2.0 EDR should appear in Apple System
Profiler? I just boughan iMac 2 GHz Intel and I think the salesperson
didn't send me the right kind of bluetooth with the comp.

I am struggling with some color issues and am wondering if anyone can
help shed some light on what's going on.
We have several macs in our office that we use for developing printed

This means that I have to 'force quit' mail when I shut my machine and
that's a pain.
