Whee - gpt works on Intel Macs with BootCamp07 Aug 2006 17:34 GMT2
...but I had to pay a heavy price.
I had to read a man page.  It was a terrible experience.
Hope this does not ruin my reputation about never reading man pages,
because then I would be banned from the point-and-click society.
installation problem with Tiger07 Aug 2006 16:11 GMT2
Finally my Tiger installation disks arrived after much hassle about
buying the dvd version, then having to send it off and having it
replaced by the cds.   I have the rounded base iMac and installing disk
1 went fine.  However, disk two will not install and the message is
Spotlight vs. LaunchBar07 Aug 2006 13:48 GMT23
For quite some time, long before the inclusion of Spotlight as part of Mac OS
X, I have been using LaunchBar as a means of launching applications. I am now
giving Spotlight a try, although, unless I am somehow wrong, Spotlight
typically takes an additional keystroke to launch an ...

I am seeking advice as to what my best options are inside my budget

I have always used PCs so the Mac will be a new experience for me and I
think its time for a change. At the moment I have a self-built Athlon 2800,

Entering the cloverleaf symbol with the keyboard07 Aug 2006 05:48 GMT3
If I perform an Option-E and then enter the key that I want,
I can get most symbols that I might want in my text.
However, how do I get the Command-Key in such a way?
I know it's available -- I just don't know how to get it

Help-Safari trouble07 Aug 2006 00:28 GMT8
Whenever I click on the address bar or anything other than the
bookmarks bar, it quits. Just started after I upgraded my OS to 10.4.7.
Has anyone experienced this? If so, I could use some help as this is a
real drag!
Desktop movement of Hard Disk icon06 Aug 2006 23:55 GMT4
Every time I start up my Mac - the Hard Disk icon is located in a
different position. I like keeping it in the upper right hand corner of
screen near the top of monitor. Is there a solution for this random
movement?
What, no keyboard map?06 Aug 2006 22:45 GMT6
I've just found a severe disappointment in my new Mac, running OS
10.4.7. Every version of the Mac OS I've had since the first (a Mac Plus
circa 1990) had a keyboard map utility.
I was looking for it on the new one. Horror of horrors, it isn't there!

Hi I want to try to write a letter to someone in the FSU. It was

correct cyrillic fonts. When I copy-and-paste it into Mail (OS-X
10.4.7) everything looks correct, and I have the menu setting
Automate change to properties in iTunes06 Aug 2006 21:57 GMT3
Hopefully, there's an easy answer to this.  Running Tiger, fully

I'm a fan of Old Time Radio and download quite a few of these for
