I was attempting to install CPAN.  I had the Xcode tool installed and at the
end of the installation the programme reported the following:

For some strange reason, I cannot show QuickTime movies on my Intel
iMac any more.
For example:  I open YouTube in Safari and try to run one of those
stupid mini-videos.

I'm having a terrible time deciding which to buy...the 20" iMac or the
Mac Pro.  If I buy the iMac, I would want a Conroe chip in it which
currently isn't available, but the downside of the iMac that I am
having a problems with is that it isn't really all that upgradeable as

In trying to pay for some courses for my son's school, I ran into
rejection at the - or all places- screen to make the payment. Other
personal info was available, such as payments to date, etc. But the pay
page rejected in FF and Safari, saying the connection was lost,  etc. I

I have a G4 tower (sawtooth), an iBook, and an XP-Pro computer.  I have
an HP1000 printer and a WD USB external hard drive (formatted as
Fat32).  If I put the WD drive on the G4 it doesn't show when

You'd think Adobe Reader would be easy to download, yet I only get
something called download manager, and when I run it I get the message
"all downloads complete". Yet i don't see Adobe 7.x anywhere. What is

I have airport setup with ethernet.  My printer is also connected to
ethernet.  Whenever I try to print, it says opening printer
connections, forever.  Any suggestions?  I have an HP Officejet 7210.

Our 14-year old grandson has an iPod and downloaded songs via my wife's
computer (A). He now would like to put these songs on his own computer
at home (B) and set it up to receive download from Apple. Is that
possible or is he tied to my wife's computer (A) in order to download

My wife's iBook G4 has lost keyboard input. Occasionally one or two

Monitor doesn't "wake up" on system startup10 Aug 2006 10:53 GMT3
I have a PowerMac g5 dual1.8, and recently started having a problem
where the monitor is 'sleeping,' and when I turn on the computer it
doesn't wake up from that sleep.  The only way I get an active screen
is if I power-cycle the monitor a few seconds after the startup chime.

But, how to handle those occasions (limited online connection time for
example) when I want to grab a lengthy Digest or a multi-message thread
to my HD as a single text file using Save As, and later want to read
