I'm looking for suggestions on two software packages...
1) a remote management software package like pcAnywhere, only for a
Macintosh. The user has a Mac PowerMac laptop and a iMac desktop
(PowerPC).

I have been reading and "using" some of various Mac groups for
information and general entertainment for several months now - but I
still can't quite understand the differences between these groups:

I'm trying to use a MV830 as a webcam but the thing keeps on shutting
off.  It has some sort of auto power save.  I don't want to have a tape
in it when I'm using it as a webcam.  Is there any way of disabling this
irritating feature?  Nothing seems to be applicable in the Menus.

After I recently upgraded from OSX 10.3 to 10.4,
I tried using "atlookup" in the terminal, as I

Running on 10.3.9 here. Many moons ago I upgraded QuickTime to QuickTime
Pro.
I have deliberately avoided upgrading QuickTime since V7 came out, since
I understand I'd need to buy the upgrade to the Pro version again.

Is there an easy way to convert a PDF file to a plain text file

Why not plug in a Wintel keyboard & mouse into the MacBook's usb port
