How upgradeable are iMacs?17 Aug 2006 03:17 GMT10
Hey folks.  Just trying to figure out what you can actually do to
extend your iMac as far as RAM, HDs, CPU, etc.  Can you have more than
one hard drive with an iMac?  Can you change the CPU?  How much RAM can
you install?  Stuff like that.  Thanks.

I have been reading and "using" some of various Mac groups for
information and general entertainment for several months now - but I
still can't quite understand the differences between these groups:

Canon DVcam powers off automatically16 Aug 2006 18:36 GMT6
I'm trying to use a MV830 as a webcam but the thing keeps on shutting
off.  It has some sort of auto power save.  I don't want to have a tape
in it when I'm using it as a webcam.  Is there any way of disabling this
irritating feature?  Nothing seems to be applicable in the Menus.

I also pulled an accidental mishap on the aforementioned OS X 10.4.7
system.
I accidentally added my Pictures folder as another screensaver, even
though that folder is there by default.  Is there any way to get rid of
atlookup in OSX 10.4?16 Aug 2006 17:48 GMT5
After I recently upgraded from OSX 10.3 to 10.4,
I tried using "atlookup" in the terminal, as I
did in 10.3, to configure an appletalk printer.
But I get a "no such command" response.

currently have the printer connected to the PC via USB and shared over
the network.  I'd like to expand my network by adding an iMac, and move
QuickTime dilemma - can both versions 6.52 and 7 coexist on the same  system?16 Aug 2006 15:34 GMT8
Running on 10.3.9 here. Many moons ago I upgraded QuickTime to QuickTime
Pro.
I have deliberately avoided upgrading QuickTime since V7 came out, since
I understand I'd need to buy the upgrade to the Pro version again.

I've had both for ~ six years now, and only during the past week
I've seen a new and strange behavior on the screen. Resolution is
NEW SEARCH~spinning ball of death fix?16 Aug 2006 04:35 GMT2
I am using the latest version of Tiger on my dual (MDD) 1.25 G4 with
1.5 GB of RAM. This problem started recently but I can't determine when
it started as I do not use Spotlight or Command-F every day.
Out of habit (from the early days of Mac OS) I use the Command-F option
