Printer List in Classic - where?20 Aug 2006 06:14 GMT2
The print dialogue in Classic allows the printer to be selected from a
drop down list. Where is that list stored? I want to delete printers
from the list that are no longer valid.

Canon Printer Uses Tiger's Built-in Drivers?20 Aug 2006 05:26 GMT4
Does Tiger have built-in drivers for the Canon Pixma iP90, or is it
necessary to install the drivers that are included with the printer?
I'm not concerned with Canon's "Easy-PhotoPrint" or other non-essential
software.
What is a bad temp in a MBP20 Aug 2006 03:58 GMT1
I installed the core duo temperature guage today. Got 18 C and 3.4%
or so (that flucuated).  So, is this good bad or indifferent?
Just Go To The Terminal And.........20 Aug 2006 01:59 GMT103
I find it puzzling that frequently in these forums a "how do i" question is
asked and even when there is a straightforward and simple method available
via the OS X interface there is a "go to the terminal and...." suggestion.
Some instances......
profile password recovery on OS X?  newb warning19 Aug 2006 22:50 GMT6
Hi gang,
I'm a Solaris geek by day and my coworkers convinced me to get a mac
since they all use them and love them.  So I got a used ibook from a
guy but failed to get the core login users password even though I'm
Audio Buffer/Latency19 Aug 2006 22:46 GMT2
I've recently had to use Garageband as a make-shift DAW while my
hardware multitrack is out of commission.
Its been quite pleasurable, but I have an issue with latency.
There is no ability to set the buffer size and with either the internal
What's a good, simple printer for OS 9/G319 Aug 2006 21:31 GMT6
Can anyone recommend an inexpensive inkjet color printer that would
work well with a 450MHz Blue&White G3?  It needs to work well (not
sluggishly) with the B&W which uses USB 1.1 and is normally booted in
OS 9.2.2, not OS X.
Question: How to go wireless with an old AGP G4?19 Aug 2006 21:06 GMT6

Installing OSX19 Aug 2006 18:22 GMT1
This is really hard to explain....
I've got a Mac G3 with several hard drives.
Some of them are running OS 8.6 and some are running OS 9.2
I'd like to keep those drives as-is because I have software that
What is worrisome temp on MBP19 Aug 2006 18:04 GMT12
Okay, ladies and gentlemen, I got the core duo temp gauge and it is
currently at 19 C and bouncing around in the 10% area. Is this a good
thing or a bad thing? When (if) should I start to get concerned?
X-1119 Aug 2006 17:06 GMT9
I often connect to a unix host using aterm (better than xterm) from my
10.4.7 intel-duo-mini with the -X parameter. Everything works well until
I try to run an X-11 command (like xeyes or xclock) on the remote box.
When I try this it times out waiting for the display to become ...
Use of PCI Express Slots19 Aug 2006 12:00 GMT1
I have a G5 desktop with some PCI Express slots and I was wondering
what people did with these. From what I can tell, there are graphics
boards, boards for adding firewire ports etc. but I was wondering if
there are any other kinds of specialized boards that you use that might
Xserve cluster19 Aug 2006 11:57 GMT4
Does anyone here have any first-hand experience with an Xserve cluster?
Is it really as wonderful and easy-to-use as Apple makes out?
Our group wants to invest in a cluster, to use for serious
number-crunching (simulations and data-analysis, not as a web/email
G5 freezes19 Aug 2006 11:54 GMT1
I've been noticing that my gen 1 dual 2.0 G5, 10.4.7 intermittently
freezes (usually after it has been idle for a while).
I've been running Spin Control (part of CHUD tools), and when it
freezes, spin control reports that every open application has become
