Any of you work in the IT help desk field?24 Jul 2006 16:57 GMT82
I am looking for another job (or a second job). In a way I am tired of the
printing industry. Sure I have talents, and a reason why this printing shop
hired me back for the third time since I started working for them in 1997.
But honestly I enjoy computer sales and technical ...

I bought 4 X 256 and replaced the older 2 sticks. It won't start.
Here are my machine specs:

Introducing Video to DVD Burner
Wondershare Video to DVD Burner is fast video-editing and DVD-authoring
software. In just five steps, easily convert and burn all popular video

Stupid Little iTunes question24 Jul 2006 10:29 GMT1
For the experts of Mac/GUI usage (SCNR ;-)) ), a question:
iTunes creshed on me a few days ago - no big deal (library was ok)
except that it behaved as if i freshly installed it, so all settings
were gone (like: Please use error-correction when reading on of my old
PRINTING PROBLEM24 Jul 2006 04:33 GMT5
I have a strange printing problem. Neither printer will print black,
colour yes, black no. i have done the usual things. Restarted, switched
off, disconnected, new cartridges waved fairy dust at them and nothing
will get them going in black. They are Epson: a Stylus 680 and a C62.

"Confirm Application Change" Dialog - Appl Upgrade and Keychain Access24 Jul 2006 04:02 GMT4
I've seen this dialog periodically, but I have to confess that I don't
understand the two choices in terms of the question it asks.
It comes up when I upgrade an application, and the question is:
<application> has been updated.  Do you want to allow the new
Modifying the "Open with..." list24 Jul 2006 03:53 GMT6
Clicking with the "ctrl" key offers a list of applications to open a
given file type, presumably according to its extension. With picture
files, you get an incredibly long list including totally useless
options courtesy Adobe, such as "constrain to 64 pixels.exe" or
considering moving to imac, convince me23 Jul 2006 21:01 GMT5
I'm having trouble finding concise and comprehensive
information on imacs, even at the store.  Sales persons
don't get paid very much I guess, and don't even seem to
understand simple questions.

CPU Upgrade Cards for PowerMac G4 (AGP Graphics)?23 Jul 2006 10:52 GMT4
I found the Encore/ST G4 1.0GHz CPU upgrade for $199 at their site.  I
am curious how these things work.  I am using the latest version of Mac
OS X Tiger, will it work with this?  Is there any other brands to
consider?  Would need to keep the $200 or less price range.

When I open PDF files, they sometimes open in Adobe Acrobat, sometimes in
Preview, and sometimes in Quicktime. How can I designate wich program should

Force Read Disk....?23 Jul 2006 04:10 GMT2
I'm using a non-Intel Mac Mini with 10.4.7.  I'm also using an Imation
SuperDisk USB drive, which I still occasionally use with the older 1.44
floppies.
Occasionally, when I insert one of the 1.44 floppies into the drive, it
