Ok, this is the situation. I have an office of 5 people and we need a
schedule that we can all view and all edit. We can not use an online
service due to contractual obligation that involve not letting any info
out of the site. We have 6 Macs all running Tiger, two NT servers and 2

I have a 1.33GHz PowerBook G4, about 3 years old,  running OS 10.3.9.
Lately, if I'm not plugged in to AC,
when the battery level reaches about 20%,
the whole system just shuts down suddenly without warning.

Hi all, just got a used powerbook 190cs and am having a problem. The
screen seems to only display in black and white, no color. I talked to
the guy I got it from but he doesnt really know anything about them.
Is this a common problem for these or would reinstalling the system

I've just upgraded from 10.2.8 to 10.4.6 and I'm having a bothersome
issue with the preview images in Finder loading very slowly. This is
most noticable with large high res Photoshop files. Why is this
happening and is there a fix?

My wife has a new MacBook.  I dl'd Bootcamp assistant from apple 5 times
& have attempted to load it.  Each time, it says the installation was
successful, but I cannot FIND the bleeding program to run it!  The dl

I just downloaded the OS update 10.4.7, and when I tried to restart my
PowerBook, it wouldn't boot.  It's now stuck at the point where I have
the gray screen with the apple on it, and the little spinning circle at

One of the stupid/favorite winTroll excuses for Windows having thousands
of times more malware than Mac is that the Mac is 'obscure.' They say
that Windows having around 90% market share versus Mac having around 4%
market share justifies their conjecture.

Safari without PithHelmet is pain, but you need not wait for a PH
update. You can make yours work with the new safari. According to a
post at versiontracker:

When I send e-mail file messages written in AppleWorks or Word -- they
leave looking great. However, any quotation marks show up at the
receiving end as question marks. If I include myself in the mailing --
the messages comes back to me with question marks instead of quotation
