I am trying to add a networked printer to my Imac. The printer is physically connect to the window/Linux box. The Imac is plugged into the router. I can get the printet to print from the mac but it prints in code and not the text that I wanted to print..

I recently made a picture cdr on my imac. But the dvd player I tried to view these pictures on wouldn't load up. The burn setting I used was mac HFS+. Isn't this how I can view pictures stored on my mac on commercial dvd players? If not please guide me through this?

I back up nightly to a firewire drive. When I plug the drive in, spotlight starts furiously working to index it. I don't need it indexed, so I add it to the privacy list in the spotlight pref pane. Is there any way to make that preference stick so I don't have to do it

I am an old macuser since system 7 but now i am pissed off by these blocking errors generated by OSX. After a hot reboot (button pushed), the system does not respond anymore

I have a friend who can't remember the keychain password she used. I suggested she open up Library/Keychains in her home directory and rename the file entitled with her username. I wasn't sure if this was correct but I knew the file could just be renamed again.

I am seriously thinking of getting a Mac. I done enough Time in windows and have been trying all flavours of Linux. Mandrake 10.2 was the best distro for this computer,,,but.. So I was wondering if it would be best to start with a Mac Book Pro ? or

Is there a keyboard shortcut on OSX 10.4.6 to go straight to Shut Down? I don't want the dialog box that gives me the option to "Cancel." I want something that automatically presses the "Shut Down" button. If there is, I can't find it. I'd appreciate any help anyone could provide!
