Does MacOS 9 come with anything that will decompress a gzipped file or is seperate software required? If extra software is needed, is there an alternate compression format that MacOS 9 does support natively? Thanks,

I have a mac that won't boot in OS 10.3.9, i've zapped pram, reset the PMU did a startup from the os cd ran a full scan on the disk (no errors faound) and then i erased the whole operating system (formatted the whole disk) and reinstalled it from the cd. I can boot into safe mode
