I´m a really new user of mac os and im setting up my new acquired old
performa with mac os 8.6.

Here's how to share your Macintosh OS X printer with Windows printers on
your home network:
A: get the printer working on Mac OS X:
1.) downloaded latest drivers for Mac OS X from your printer manufactue

I have some 50 VHS PAL tapes I am transferring to DVD.
At present, I am using a El Cheapo DVD Recorder having a HD.

I bought a IMAC g5 in January which came with a mighty mouse. Soon
after I set it up the expose function went out of control...almost any
movement of the mouse, whether or not I was touching the side buttons

I'm in the process of moving from a G4 system running OS 10.2.8 to a Mac
Mini running 10.4.6. I need to do some research on the changes in the

All of a sudden today, on boot up, there is one of my dashboard widgets
on the desktop. I have no idea how that happened or how to get it off.
It covers over any other window of the finder or any application I go
to. Very annoying.  I've moved it out of the way, but I sure would ...

I find that dragging items (directories on servers, for example) to the
finder sidebar makes them nice and easy to access.  However deleting (or
dragging them to the trash) doesn't delete the icon on the sidebar, but
deletes the original directory on the server - eeeek!

   these might be very stupid questions, but i don't have a lot of
experiance with macs so please don't flame me for it:
How do I open several finder windows? This is such a simple operation,
but I just couldn't figure it out: I tried clicking the hard drive icon

I'm considering getting a MacBook, and whether to include Windows on it. I
know you have to reboot to access Windows, but what about file access? Is
Windows in its own partition on the HD, and can the Mac OS access files from
the Windows OS, and vice-versa?

I have a friend on my side of our small island who contacted me recently
about a problem with her Mac.  Namely her AppleWorks started crashing
frequently. Her mail.app, iPhoto, and iTunes were working normally.
Apparently every few minutes her AW would crash.  She has a PowerBook G4

People actually pay me money to set up and fix networks, but I can't
fix my own...
AirPort went hooey and some Macs (there are six on the defunct network
at the moment) also can't connect to the Internet via an Ethernet cable

I have a small hard drive but am thinking of upgrading to 10.3.9. How
much space does a base installation of 10.3.9 require?

I've heard people claim that you can use a cell phone with
bluetooth and a computer with same to get internet access
(probably slow, probably expensive) on the computer through that
connection.  Is that true?  If so, what do you have to do for it
