More on MT-NW problem16 Jun 2006 18:46 GMT11
Stunnel, on the G4 with Tiger (in /library/startupitems/) is listed as a
Unix Executable File.  When I double click on it, it asks for an
application to open it.  It does not load and execute automatically.
Under Activity monitor, nothing regarding Stunnel can be seen.
Bluetooth problem, Intel MiniMac16 Jun 2006 18:16 GMT1
My built-in Bluetooth in Mini isn't responding.
I can turn it on and off, but it won't validate any device.
I've reseted PRAM/NVRAM, reboot the Mini few times, delete any files
with "bluetooth" in name - nothing works.
Manually repairing fonts16 Jun 2006 16:05 GMT2
I am systematically trying to resolve some problem which has lead to
multiple applications crashing.  Using the advice from thexlab.com, I am
investigating whether font problems are the culprit.
I downloaded Font Doctor and attempting to use it in demonstration mode
Why do OSX upgrades wipe out /etc configuration files?16 Jun 2006 14:24 GMT9
How lame can Apple get?  Everytime you upgrade from, say,
Panther to Tiger, they just wipe out any important files
you've configured as if no one else (but them) could possibly
know what they are doing.  They wipe out /etc files

AppleWorks and images16 Jun 2006 07:27 GMT5
I know this is probably a long shot, but does anyone know how to get
AppleWorks to actually print EPS images?
There appears to be a bad bug in AppleWorks that makes it useless for
simple in-house desktop publishing. No matter what image format you use
Intel iMac Hangs on Shutdown16 Jun 2006 04:14 GMT3
This is an Intel iMac 20", Core Duo with 2 Gigs of RAM, OS 10.4.6.  It has
been a couple of weeks since the last software update.  Software Update
currently says I need to install iPod Updater and QuickTime 7.1.1.
Starting yesterday, the little "spinning spokes" wheel freezes during ...
Firewall beginner question16 Jun 2006 00:15 GMT3
This is a very basic/beginner security question.
I don't really understand completely what a firewall does. However on
our home office network we have a router (Netgear RT314) between the DSL
modem and our computers. When I originally set up our LAN, I understood
Keyboard shortcuts: where are they?15 Jun 2006 22:22 GMT6
Not that piddly list in System Preferences > Keyboard and Mouse.
I mean things like Shift+Command+Q for logging out.  There are lots more
that I seem to activate by accident.  If I don't know what a shortcut
is, there's not much sense having it activated until I need it.

recovering a foolishly deleted file15 Jun 2006 19:42 GMT4
I just stupidly deleted file and emptied the trash.
Is there a way in OSX 10.4.6 to recover it?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
