has anybody else ever seen a mac (os x 10.3.9) where the apple menu won't open? (it highlights, but the apple menu doesn't drop down.) and, more importantly, what causes it, or how to fix it? (my only guess is to reinstall the os, but that kind of sucks.)

I have a dual 500 G4 'Gigabit Ethernet' Power PC, bought new almost six years ago. It's been working perfectly in all that time until a few weeks ago when the power supply blew. I replaced the supply with a re-furbished exchange unit and everything's peachy again ... for now.

Is it possible to disable printing from Simple Finder accounts? I found the "administer printers" check box under Parental Controls but it doesn't seem to be available Simple Finder. I let my three year old bang away on her Simple Finder account and she's managed to hit ...

Somebody gave me one of these as a gift today, 30GB model. Supposedly it only works with Windows boxes. Is there anyone using one with a Mac? Or should I go swap it out for an iPod?

i'm sitting in guilin, china. the hotel has wired (ethernet) internet access in the hotel room, but when i try to connect, i get an error dialog. when i ask the hotel staff, they say that apple computers can't connect to the internet in guilin. worked just fine in shenzhen.

After ejecting a DVD (standard Warner Brothers Movie) and coming back to the computer (G5) all my audio out-puts don't work. I checked all my connections all appear fine. Did I hit a hot button or something that isn't obvious while ejecting the CD? Please I need advice.

is there a MacOS9 tool out there allowing to rejoin files each available as two files, one holding the data fork, the other (in a __MACOSX folder with _ prepended in the name) holding an AppleDouble header and the resource fork?
