Completely Banal Question: Rubber "nubs"25 May 2006 04:51 GMT10
This is going to seem really trivial to some of you, but it's REALLY
annoying for me.
Just had one of the rubber nubs on the bezel of my 12" iBook (2005)
fall off. The stem of it is still in the hole, but the
Long performance stalls started yesterday...pls. help25 May 2006 00:55 GMT8
Yesterday I began experiencing incredibly long stalls within several
applications and, particularly, switching between applications.  My
hard drive sounds like it's being accessed in very brief bursts in a
steady rhythm (sounds like a floppy drive formatting!).  Besides app
Buy iMac Today or Wait For Faster One?25 May 2006 00:50 GMT6
I recently came into some money and my wife (bless her heart) said that I
should buy a new iMac, as I am forever bemoaning the speed of my 800 MHz
iMac.  My response to her was that my Mac wasn't *that* slow, and that I
could wait for the next faster iMac.  However, maybe there ...

My wife uses an ibook at work.  She is having increasing difficulty with
the machine's limited resources & condition (constantly having to
rebuild databases, and 2 weeks ago the latch broke, she has to hold it
shut with a rubber band) and is trying to get them to replace it.  They

Speeding up an aging iBook24 May 2006 22:24 GMT4
I posted a question regarding my wife's work iBook yesterday under
"Approximate age of an iBook?".  A couple helpful folks suggested
"ShadowKiller" as a possible way of speeding up this machine's

New Mac app ideas24 May 2006 21:27 GMT2
I'm fishing for a new Mac app, but I can't come up with any ideas. What
sort of app would you find useful? Where do you folks think the Mac is
lacking. I'm trying to think different, but I'm stuck in an uncreative
rut.
