I have one 10.3 box and one 10.4 box. Everything works fine on the latter, but I'm having a problem with xterm and UTF-8 on the 10.3 box. The problem seems to be that when I use the Meta (i.e., command) key to enter a non-ASCII character, xterm sends it encoded as ISO 8859-1
