Is this right? I personally send many faxes and could not live without a built in modem. I can understand Apple's logic for elliminating the modem on their desktops, but laptops? Laptops are supposed to be portable. What will people who live

| Blank CD's or CD-RW won't mount on a MAC G5 | 27 May 2006 03:27 GMT | 9 |
I think the drive is OK as I can mount regular commercial CD's with data but not blank media. I tried a few blank disks. The CD's don't show in the finder windows, and it's not set to ignore. The dialog box came up asking me how I wanted to proceed so I know it knows it's

| My love affair with BlackBook and Intel iMac | 27 May 2006 00:04 GMT | 1 |
Since 1993 I've been an OS/2-only user and advocate. It wasn't until this past January, when IBM finally dropped support for OS/2 entirely, that I found myself looking to my computing future. I didn't use Windows anything even tho' I owned three Thinkpads (T30, T40 and T41).

| Online backup solutions for my computer | 26 May 2006 20:58 GMT | 3 |
Yahoo web hosting is not exactly optimized for backup. So what do you guys reccommend I use to backup my files online? Yes I am using Retrospect to backup my disk to USB hard drive, but I could use a online backup solution for file backup of a select number of files.

| Imac g3 relavance revisited... | 26 May 2006 18:16 GMT | 3 |
I think I had posted here before about this, but I'd like to discuss it again. I have a g3 imac 700 with 80 gb hd and 1 gb ram, and I'm curious as to who here uses this sort of system anymore, and how relevant it is in the world of "macintel" and the g5 and even g4 processors. I
