I have external USB 2.0 and external Firewire. I can boot the firewire drive. The documentation that I've found doesn't specify that firewire boots but usb doesn't but I don't seem to be able to boot from USB. Has anyone been able to do so? It may be a problem with my backup ...

Is there a way to jump to a specific time index with Apple's DVD player? Or use different fast forward and rewind speeds? If not, is there a third party DVD player with these features? Thanks
