Mac Classic and Brother HL-525022 May 2006 18:14 GMT1
I have a dual processor 1.8 GHz G5 with OS 10.4.6 and, while I also use
CS2, a lot of my work is done in Pagemaker 6.5 running under Classic.
I recently bought a Brother HL-5250 mono laser printer. It replaces a
Laserwriter 4/600 used as a stopgap after I'd returned  a printer  of
Cursor running amok22 May 2006 18:13 GMT5
Recently my cursor started jumping around on the screen. I'll be
mousing to a particluar point on a photo, for example, and suddenly the
cursor is up on the right corner, or over on the desktop somewhere.
Today, I was scrolling through a long list of files in an open file

My friend has Parkinson's and has trouble typing now.  He decided to
trade in his eMac for an Intel 17" iMac to run Naturally Speaking in
Windows.  Is anyone doing this, and what are the results?  Are they
acceptable?  Tried to Google a thread about this but didn't find

Which Mac to keep as PowerPC/OSX/Classic for years?22 May 2006 11:30 GMT9
I do have many files still on PowerPC applications that have never been
upgraded to Mac OS X.
Which machine would you recommend to still run Classic under Mac OS X
for the years to come, ie which one would you expect to run longest
Hard Drive Upgrade22 May 2006 10:11 GMT4
Help! I've added internal hard drives to my G4 mac twice already and
both have died on me (they just started clicking when I'd watch DVDs on
my computer). And I know clicking means the hard drive is dead. The
first one I tried was Western Digital (60 gig). It failed on me after

quicksilver G4 when it's booted to my auxilary 10.2.8 drive, but not
when the Mac is booted to its default 10.3.9 drive.

I am using a D-Link DI-524 router.  The hardware version is A1.
I would like to install the v5.xx firmware (which is associated with the
DI-524 hardware version E1 router) into this router.  Has anybody had
any experiences doing this?  I've read where people have installed the
D-Link DI524 as wireless adapater for Imac?22 May 2006 02:34 GMT16
I've got an old g3 imac in the house, which needs to be in a spot
out of reach of the wired network. Thanks to folks on this NG, it
was demonstrated that my g4 powerbook with a crossover cable could
function as a wirless network adapater for the g3, using my Mac Mini

Crash Restore from clone ?s21 May 2006 21:45 GMT2
This is a hypothetical question, at least right now ;) , but since a
hard drive will fail at some point I'd like to be prepared as best one
can.
Assume a major crash and the main hard drive is completely gone....

The Apple website says there are two options for the MBP 15" I'm

All they say is:
