...erm this friend I have was wondering how he might get hold of a
low-cost, i mean VERY low-cost version of adobe photoshop for mac, any
ideas? He said something about Limewire not having any or something
like that.

I'm totally baffled, and would MUCH appreciate some advice on this one!
Setup: Macmini as server, with five big HDs, a couple of laser printers and
connection to AirPort Extreme. PowerBook and iBook connect to disks and
printers through WiFi. (Macmini has 10.4.6 and 1 gig).

I was given a practically new iMac G4, loaded with OS 10.2.3.  I
immediately went to Software Updates and updated to the OS 10.3.9.
Perfect! Then I gave it to my grand daughter who proceeded to download

Can I run a Unix executable without launching Terminal?  If so, how?
For my purposes, I don't need stdin, stdout, or stderr, so it's OK if
they all get redirected from/to /dev/null.

There are a couple of utilities on the market that simply act as a interface
between a user and BSD UNIX, creating system calls such as rm -rf and cron
with simple menu items.  There is at least one of these Tiger Cache Cleaner
that will create a Ram Disk.  This leads me to believe ...
