I am really concidering buying an Imac G3 of of Ebay for 100 bucks or so. I woould like to know a few things. How hard would it be to upgrade say a 350 to a 600 mgrtz? How Hard would it be to add a bigger HDD

I am thinking about getting a new Intel iMac and wonder if I could still run this older G4 (OSX 10.4 with Classic) on the router? The real question is can I mount the old G4 from the iMac and run a Classic application over the network?

I can access SMB-signed shares on a Windows 2003 Server with the 'smbclient' on my PowerBook running Tiger, but only with the 'smbclient' command from Terminal. Is there a way I can access these from Finder? The following command works:

The files I make with InDesign have very slow print times when they have a 40 meg graphic image placed on them (1 hour +) to print. I am running a new Itel Imac / OS 0.4.6 0 InDesignCS2. The print driver is current and supposedly compatable with the Intel machine.

My employer took away my iMac-G4 and replaced it with a dual-core Intel iMac. But they didn't purchase new speakers to go with the old computer, because our IT people told purchasing that the JBL Creature II speakers I had would work the new Intel iMac.

Hi! Is there a key that you can hold down in OS X to temporarily disable autoplay when you insert a CD? Like SHIFT does in Windows. Thanks in advance!

This I bought an APC usb 2.0 hub, plugged it in in the mini usb port and inserted 2 usb printers, 1 external hd and a wireless keyboard and mouse in the hub. Everything worked fine and instead of shutting down the Mac mini I used the sleep mode.

I'm using an 800mhz iMac with a combidrive. I'd like to upgrade to an external DVD R/RW drive. Would I get any other advantage (besides write speed) using firewire instead of the cheaper USB?

Does the OS X "Network" panel have the same capability for setting up a number of optional configurations, and easily switching among them, as the OS 9 TCP/IP Control Panel did? If it does, I can't find it.

I have a PB G4 17" running Tiger, and I want to send a fax. I thought this thing had a fax modem in it, but maybe not. I don't see how to send a Fax. There are some settings under "Print & Fax", but these only seem to be about
