i've heard a rumor that os x (10.5) will include a database file system
comparable to what microsoft is trying to do with WinFS (which is based
on sql server).
has anyone heard anything about what type of database code it will run

I have a Griffin iMic connected to my USB bus. Attached to the iMic is a

recently bought a Kensington 4 outlet powered 2.0.  1.1 backward
compatable.When I got it home in verrry fine print it said minimum os

Hi, I'm running 10.4.5 on an iMac halfdome. Three users are installed on the
system; my wife and son have no trouble logging on, but when I do, the login
is painfully slow--it takes nearly half an hour for my desktop to come up!

I have an older emac and have lost the original discs. Where can I get or
order discs for my eMac? I have copied discs but the build # is wrong!! When
I load the discs my display is about 50% of the screen. It seems I need the
originals with the right build #.. Is there a way around ...

For years, my favorite News reader has been MT-NewsWatcher.  It runs
under the new Intel iMac but tends to crash when downloading binary
files.

When I do work from the bash shell(OS X 10.4.5), I often find files in
directories that are ._something where there is a file called something.
What is going on here?  Anybody have a clue?  Naturally they are hidden and
never show up in finder windows.

We have the retail version of OS 10.3. It was previously installed on a
G4 APG 450. No problems.
I'm trying to install it in my G4 PCI 400 Yikes. I've tried starting
with the C key and starting by changing the startup disk to the CD.

I want this to work on Mac OS (10) as well, but don't have such a

With my troubles with starting up Tiger and it freezing on me when it
starts up. Would there be a way I could get the installer to skip some
of the system checks it does?
