Unhiding the Desktop folder19 Apr 2006 19:34 GMT6
My Desktop no longer appears as a viewable folder within my home folder
in the Finder. (It shows up when I click the Desktop icon on the
left-hand of the Finder window without problem).
This makes it awkward accessing files on the Desktop from applications

Screen Saver -- Choose Folder problem19 Apr 2006 18:05 GMT1
When I bring up the Desktop/Screen Saver preference and select Screen
Saver, sometimes there's an option to "Choose Folder," and other times
that option is not present. It seems to be random. Is that a feature?
Webserver wireless setup19 Apr 2006 18:02 GMT1
I have a webserver on my home G4, it works fine and my domain is
forwarded to my home web server and it can be found via web browser.
But now I want to add my Belkin Router, Airport Base Sation (not
Extreme) and Win XP system. Can anyone give me some advice on how to
AppleWorks 6 problem19 Apr 2006 17:21 GMT1
Weird, you are working on a document and scroll back up the page to view
earlier work, but when you scroll back down everything out of sight
below the edge of the window has disappeared.
It is actually there, as Preview shows it after a print request, but it
Shared Printer Printing19 Apr 2006 16:45 GMT2
This is an extremely annoying bug!  Whenever anyone in my house (iMac
G5, PowerBook G4, iBook G3, and iBook G4 [minus the iMac because that's
where the printer's hooked up]) tries to print to my a shared printer
in say, Microsoft Word, they can't just press "Print" in the dialog.
Microsoft Entourage19 Apr 2006 16:08 GMT4
Hello I'm using Microsoft Entourage as my email and usenew reader. Please
don't flame... I'm using this because I'm MACOS user since last December so
I feel comfortable with this Outlook like program.
My question is... How can I view the usenew messages sorted on conversation
Windows on Intel Mac question/annoyance (PrintScreen)19 Apr 2006 14:49 GMT6
I installed Windows on my iMac last week, via BootCamp. There were no
problems at all, aside from the tedium. But yesterday, I ran into a
problem that googling hasn't helped me with: Windows keyboards have a
PrintScreen button that invokes a screen/window capture utility.
OSX Ubuntu19 Apr 2006 08:04 GMT5
Ubuntu  looks like OSX as well.
I run Ubuntu and OSX .
They are very similar.
Ubuntu is good. OSX is good too.
OS 919 Apr 2006 02:07 GMT5
Since I've moved all of my programs to OS X.4 and I don't think I even
booted to OS9 since I've had my Powerbook for over a year.
My question is this; Can I safely throw OS 9 into the trash. Or, is
there another way of doing so? Is there any consequences in throwing OS
DVD mounting issues on TiBook19 Apr 2006 01:27 GMT3
Something has happened recently such that my TiBook does not mount or
recognize some (but not all DVDs). One of my movie DVDs and one DVD
burned with digital pictures will not mount on my laptop but does on my
iBook G4.
Terminal Help: Stuck Again19 Apr 2006 00:53 GMT11
This has happened before, but this time I thought I'd ask for help...
My normal prompt in Terminal is my user name folowed by a dollar sign.
(My IP address is in there somewhere also). Every once in a while, and
I've just done it now, I apparently type the wrong thing and the prompt
Connection to Servers ability lost18 Apr 2006 23:46 GMT1
Something wild happened to my OS X 10.4 a few days ago, that after a
series of backward-tracking and troubleshooting, I can not figure out.
Maybe someone here has some tips...

DVD Won't Enter, Won't Exit18 Apr 2006 22:54 GMT11
Greetings, all.  Long time no see.
I have an iMac G5 c. Dec. 2004.  A few minutes ago, I inserted a DVD,
but it seems not to have mounted in the drive.  The disk is just barely
too far inside the machine to reach.  It's not visible from the outside
OS 9.1-OSX conversion handholding18 Apr 2006 22:42 GMT12
I have a G4 running System 9.1.
I need to install OSX on my computer (or better yet on a totally
separate drive) and keep 9.1 to run my old applications. Or to use
"Classic" mode within OSX.
