I will install Mac OS 10.4 soon. I want to put the users
home directories on a different disk. Can I simply move

Something rotten in the world of Microsoft. Vista.23 Mar 2006 22:32 GMT2
This blog is worth reading, even though it is filled with "softie" talk
that doesn't mean much to me. It gives a clear picture of a
disorganized, demoralized, intellectually bankrupt company. Team leaders
on Vista who think they'll be lucky to really ship in March 2007. People
iBook G-3 HD dying? 23 Mar 2006 21:57 GMT4
I think my G-3 iBook (white, @ 800 Mhz) is in code red re its HDD. For
several years, the disk would spin up irregularly and keep on until I
slept it, or shut it down. Some times it wouldn't spin that way for weeks.

Epson CX5300 blue-gray cast?23 Mar 2006 14:17 GMT5
My Epson CX5300 persistently prints colour photos with a blue-grey cast.
This is most obvious with plain A4 paper. With Epson photo printing
paper the effect is more of an under-exposed image. Details in the
shadows just disappear completely.
"Rescued Items" folder on reboot?23 Mar 2006 09:31 GMT3
I recently rebooted my new iBook G4 (10.4.5, fully patched). I had

When I rebooted, I heard a strange beep (not the regular startup chime),
the fan whizzed at jet speed for a moment, and I found an folder in ...

I have an applescript that worked fine until I switched from using AFP to
NFS for remote volumes.  Other things didn't work properly until I made the

including the fact that it's a multiplatform environment and ...
