Imac Duo Intel-speakers and trackball24 Mar 2006 17:15 GMT1
I have a new iMac  duo Intel and it's a great computer. I've only got two
problems--maybe someone has a suggestion.
I used a Kensington Trackball with my previous iMac G4 and it worked great,
using MouseWorks. Unfortunately, the Kensington software does not work on a
9.1 > 10.1 Printer24 Mar 2006 17:02 GMT3
My boss bought a Canon printer. I went to install the printer. The
printer install indicated we needed Mac OS x 10.1.  She has Mac OS x
9.1. I read a few things on upgrading. I downloaded the 9.2.1 and 9.2.2
upgrade. Ran them, installed them.. When I boot into the OS I see 9.2.2
TechTool 4.01 destroys Tiger HD, DiskWarrior fixes it !!24 Mar 2006 16:57 GMT5
This is second hand, but it might help someone...
A friend ran the wrong version of TechTool Pro (ver 4.01) on his Tiger
hard disk. It destroyed the hard disk.
Says he didn't "approve" any changes or fixes. He says, "I ran the
March madness24 Mar 2006 15:12 GMT5
I'm not sure of your interest in March madness (college basketball
playoffs) but here are some observations.
I signed up with iTunes (Apple) to receive video computer file
summaries (8-10 minutes in length) of all the games. So far, I've
simple wired networking to router with PB 3400c on OS 9.124 Mar 2006 14:01 GMT3
I admit it. I am a Mac ignoramous. But I am tinkering with an old
Powerbook 3400C that I was given. It runs OS 9.1.
I was impressed when by simply plugging the Ethernet cable into the
plug, I was instantly able to connect to the Internet.

very bad airport and bluetooth reception in Intel Mini24 Mar 2006 13:56 GMT2
There's not much discussion of this topic in this group. Look at the
links below and see what a rubbish time many people are having with
wireless on their new Minis and iMacs. Question is: are we just imaging
it or is anybody here experiencing similar poor performance?
"bonk" sound went away24 Mar 2006 08:00 GMT7
Gang,
Trivial event (hopefully) but one I thought someone might be able to
comment on.
Whenever I moved or copied files in the finder (OSX 10.4.5), or
PCMCIA card differences on Powerbook 3400c24 Mar 2006 07:46 GMT2
EVen if it doesn't work (due to incompatibility or lack of drivers or
other) should a PCMCIA card that fits into a PC PCMCIA slot also fit
into a Mac PCMCIA slot?
Just out of curiosity I've tried a few of my PC cards but they seem to
Mac basics (e.g. keystroke commands in MAC,24 Mar 2006 07:41 GMT3
A Mac-knownothing long steeped in the PC world, I am fumbling to
familiarize myself with an old Powerbook 3400C running OS 9.1 that a
friend thoughtfully (?) gave me.
a couple of questions, general and specfic:
Safari doesn't open pdf anymore..24 Mar 2006 07:37 GMT2

ITunes music loss - a cautionary tale24 Mar 2006 05:23 GMT1
Being a creature of action, late one evening decided to organize music
library in a more sensible fashion.
Step 1 ran software designed to recognize music files and write
corrected Tags to files.
Wow. Look at the ThinkPad battery life vs. Macbook Pro24 Mar 2006 04:25 GMT6
What the devil is wrong with the Macbook Pro? The Thinkpad is showing
double the battery life with equivalent performance, plus the reviewers
make a note of how cool it runs....not a hallmark of the MBP. What's up
with this?
Tiger no longer "sees" OS 9 Desktop Folder on another    volume/partition24 Mar 2006 03:39 GMT1
Ever since I installed OS X, I'd been able to open items from my OS 9.2
partition simply by having the Finder go through the Desktop Folder on that
volume. Recently, however, this stopped working. Since I'd had some other
troubles with the OS 9 volume and figured that it most likely ...
