Hi, I have a Mac Mini G4, OSX 10.3.9, and I found the HZ is set to 100: MacMini:~ root# sysctl kern.clockrate kern.clockrate: hz = 100, tick = 10000, profhz = 100, stathz = 100 Now I want to adjust HZ to 1000, to get faster responsivity in my apps.

I have partitioned my hard disk into 4 partitions. Three for yellow dog linux and one for Mac OS X. Whenever I use disk utility to verify the Mac OS X partition, the computer hangs and I have to reboot it. Any solution? Thanks,

I've got an external hard drive (USB 1) that I borrowed from a friend who uses with his PC. I'm able to copy files from it, but when I try to copy to it, it says 'this drive can not be modified' or something similar.

The subject just about says it all. I can get 10.4 to display the Day of the Week and the Time but cannot get it to display the date in the menu bar. Yes, I know you can mouse on the display and it will show the date but I would like to show the Date and Time in the menu bar.

I'm trying to change the port sshd listens on. I tried the normal change in /etc/sshd_config, but it won't take effect, even after a reboot. Has anyone else managed to do this?
